Creative and manipulative!

Daddy: Hey Hannah, are you playing? You're supposed to be picking up.

Hannah: But Genna said she would do it all!

Nice try!

BIG news!

I weighed Isaac on our scale just to see what he weighed now since we are still a month away from his well baby visit. Well, I was shocked (and still not sure if I believe it!) that he weighed 13.8lbs (with clothes and diaper, which they would take off during a doctor's appointment weigh in.) I was guessing 12lbs, but Wow!

Hannah's still a bit under the weather, but she's on the mend. She is typically super sweet when she's truly sick (that's one way I can tell the difference,) and it has been nice to have all the extra kisses and cuddles from her.

Genna's great! She is currently working on dressing and undressing herself. Hopefully, potty training is in our near future, but I have my doubts.

I am busy with my family support group. We have a big meeting tonight. Plus, I am trying to go through toys, reorganize, and put some of them away for a while.

Brian is busy with work. He just had a guy trip to Bastogne, Belgium this past weekend, and he hopes to post on the blog a bit about it soon. He had time with the girls last night while Isaac and I went to my woman's Bible study. We've started talking to the girls about his long trip, trying to prepare them, but I think they're not really going to understand just yet since the concept of time completely eludes them.

That's about it! There's not much exciting going on here, the BIG news reference was just a pun, in case you are still wondering what the BIG news is. :)

First night in his own room!

Isaac slept in his own room for the first time last night. The girls were both 2 months old when I moved them out of our room, but he is sleeping pretty well and his grunting in his sleep is starting to disrupt my sleep. Plus, his room is right across from ours.

(These pictures were taken on Saturday. Isaac was 4 weeks old!)

You know you are tired when...

1. You leave the burner on and then set a potholder on top of it. (Who knew I could put out a minor kitchen fire while nursing and talking on the phone!)

2. You can't roll down our window in the car.

3. You turn off your lights instead of turning off your blinker.

4. You try to microwave the dog food instead of your own food.

5. You can't even remember all the dumb things you've done lately...

Well, I need to go get groceries and new potholders, mine are black now for some reason.

The girl who cried wolf...

Hannah is constantly saying she has a head ache, sore throat, or tummy ache or even a combination of the three so much so that I barely even hear her anymore. So when she said I have a fever this morning, I thought to myself Whatever. I felt her head as I was saying, "No, you don't. You're fine," but then she did feel a little warm. I took her temp and she actually did have a fever, who knew? I was the same way when I was little, always pretending to be sick for attention, and so I didn't have to go to school. My parents started never believing me as well. I had a broken finger for a week before my mom believed me and took me to the doctor. Who can blame her though? I cried wolf way too many times. Well, what goes around comes around, I guess.

Taking care of little brother...

I was cooking and Genna was reading quietly on the couch, Hannah was coloring in the kitchen with me, and Isaac was sleeping on his special mat (that no one is allowed to walk on as a protective measure-we wouldn't want someone to fall on him). Isaac started to fuss and then stopped. I peaked around the corner to check on him and this is what I found...I grabbed the camera to get the picture even though I should have been worried since Genna had a slight fever yesterday. At this point, I just have to trust in God to keep him healthy with all the snotty noses that come through this house. With three little ones and one in school now, there is no stopping it. But what a sweetie Genna was to take care of her brother! I guess she learned from her big sis, who chided her the other day for "not taking care of Isaac" because she walked in the room and he had spit up and Genna had not wiped his face. Little mommies everywhere!

More of our #1 Boy!

I'm sure you're all thinking I have forgotten how to take pictures of the girls since it seems all I've been posting are pictures of Isaac lately. You see, I don't want him to have some skimpy photo album and baby book, so I got to keep up! However, I will make more of an effort to catch my princesses on camera in the near future.

It seems Isaac is the sleepiest boy ever! Although my mom swears my baby brother slept even more. So far it seems I have had my mother's 3 children all over again, although Hannah and Genna have traded some of mine and my sister's characteristics off so as to make new combinations of us(and of course, there is a bit of Brian in them as well even though it is sometimes hard to see it).

Tuesday: This is the outfit he came home in and now it barely fits him.

Wednesday evening: We had to change into his night shirt early since he had a blow out and messed up his clothes. Daddy made a fire and he was chilling out looking at it here. It is chilly here, but he sleeps swaddled in a blanket which is why I have him in a t-shirt at night.

Wednesday night: His very first bath! Even though it looks like he didn't like it, he actually was very content until I got his Daddy to grab the camera as I was finishing up. Of course, then he got really mad.

Thursday morning: Usually he's awake after our 7am nursing for a while, but today he was totally out. I even changed him into the outfit in the next picture below this one and then he went back to sleep while I was getting ready. So far he hasn't been awake today at all except to eat and poop and get his diaper changed. I guess I should have rotated this picture...oh well!

Sleeping babies are such angels!
