Smiles, Milestones, and Feeding Woes

(This seems like I got out of order on my back posting.  his was before his first hospital stay.)At 11 weeks, Roman started grabbing at his face and scratching himself quite a bit.  He also started sucking on his hands.  He smiles a lot now and I've been able to catch it on camera more often.

Roman LOVES music!  He has a musical/vibrating hedgehog that goes with him everywhere because it is the magic that soothes all of his woes.  The song I sing to him every nap and bedtime is "I See the Moon" because I started singing it to him at his first doctor appointment while waiting for the doctor and realized that the lyrics were perfect for this guy.  It brought tears to my eyes as I got to the part, "God came down from heaven above and He picked you out for me to love."  Of course, this is true for all my babies, but seems especially true in this situation given the circumstances of being told no for 20 babies before God said yes to THIS baby boy for our family.

Roman was smiling around his bottle at his daddy singing "Living on a Prayer" to him.  This is his favorite song while his daddy feeds him.  Some days we have to sing nonstop for the whole half hour to him to get him to keep eating.  His favorite songs with me are "The Ants go Marching," "The Wheels on the Bus," and "The Itsy Bitsy Spider."

I have sang "The Ants go Marching" so many times now that I have made up a Catholic version of it.  So here it is if you're curious: (Skip ahead if you're not!)

The Catholic Ants

The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah!
The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah!
The ants go marching one by one.
The little one stops for adoration,
And they all go marching down to the ground to get out of the rain, boom boom boom!

...
The ants go marching two by two.
The little one stops to say, "Jesus, I trust in You."
...

...
The ants go marching three by three.
The little one stops to pray on his knees,
...

...The ants go marching four by four.
The little one stops to feed the poor,
...

...
The ants go marching five by five.
The little one joins the march for life,
...

...
The ants go marching six by six.
The little one stops to help the sick,
...

...
The ants go marching seven by seven.
The little one stops to pray to Heaven,
...

...
The ants go marching eight by eight.
The little one stops at the pearly gates,
...

...
The ants go marching nine by nine.
The little one brings up the bread and wine,
...

...
The ants go marching ten by ten.
The little one stops to say, "Amen!"
...

He started Specialized Training Therapy and Occupational Therapy at home and has started practicing tummy time more often.  They want an hour a day total, but we haven't been successful yet with that much.  They recommended using less head support in the sling (baby wearing) and that did make a big difference ad was more tolerable to him.
