Fully Recovered!

Surgery and recovering from a broken sternum definitely set him back in the physical development department.  In mid March, we were able to start picking him up under his arms again which has made it easier to work on sitting up.  If you've ever tried to lift a baby out of a Bumbo seat or high chair seat without lifting under their arms you'd know it is very tricky to do.  So we worked on propped couch sitting a lot.

Attempting to prop couch sit, but he pushed back with those strong legs

The red loufa shown here has been quite a hit.  The occupational therapist recommended it for practicing transferring toys from one hand to the next because it is easy to grab from all directions.  He doesn't look like he's underweight, does he?

More prop couch sitting!  With friends!

He's got a killer scar, but he's been deemed fully recovered and ready for the next thing.  He still has fluid in his ears so he will be getting ear tubes in mid April.  His cardiologist cleared him for that minor surgery as long as it is in a hospital and not a surgical center.  I'll be updating the Caring Bridge website concerning that surgery.
