Our neighbor and good friends told us about this tradition that she did when she was little. Las Pasadas is a Mexican tradition where Mary and Joseph go from house to house asking for a place to stay for the night. Each house has a script to reject them until they reach the tenth house who lets them in. That is the host house that throws a party for all the neighbors who have been traveling with Mary and Joseph. They asked Hannah to be Mary, but she is shy in those situations and didn't really want to do it. Brian was trying to talk her into it when Genna comes over to me in tears because she wanted to be Mary so badly. I told Brian it seemed silly to talk Hannah into it when Genna wanted to do it so much. So Genna was Mary and Quin, our neighbor's oldest, was Joseph.
Drew, Judah, and I stayed home until our door was knocked on. Then we went to the party. It was a great thing to do with our neighbors, many of whom just happen to be fallen away Catholics.
