We opened presents that morning before the girls left for school. The boys played outside a little bit with Judah's new bug kit, catching critters and studying them. I was still unpacking as we got another shipment on his birthday as well. I made him a brownie cake, but the girls didn't feel quite ready to go out to dinner on a school night. They have been adjusting to the level of homework and structure of working so late some nights. We decided to postpone his restaurant dinner, and I let him choose the dinner I would cook. He chose taco night. Later we promised we'd take him to Buffalo Wild Wings, which turned out to be way way later, but his cousins got to come so it was fine in the end.
He suddenly requested, very last minute, for a Rocket cake. After seeing the Avengers Live Show he's been a little obsessed with the Guardians of the Galaxy even though he's never seen another movie or even book about them. I compromised and made him a Rocket appetizer for our Sunday Family Dinner the following Sunday. It was made out of pretzels, black olives, and cauliflower mostly.
We love you, Judah, or Benjamin, or whatever your name is. ;) You have a funny personality, a loving heart, a motivated spirit, and a temper that leaves all our jaws on he floor, especially when you get hungry or thirsty. We pray that this year is the year you learn to use that red hot passion for the good.
