Ready, set, LEARN!

We are ready to start school officially tomorrow. Originally, I planned to start today, on Labor Day, but my husband talked me out of it since he would be off work. Unfortunately, the insulation man is coming to join us for our first day of school. Hopefully, it won't be too much of a distraction. So, tomorrow it all begins. Our school room is ready. See!

The letter of the week is on the wall. My desk is in the foreground with my lesson plans and craft supplies for the week on it. The girls each have a desk with their drawer sitting on it for the first day or so. The drawers have pencils, rulers, and their respective workbooks in them. In the future they will be responsible for getting their own drawer out in the morning. For now we will work on putting it away at the end. Isaac's felt board (to be featured in a later post) is on the easel for now. His Montessori bin (details below) is on the floor where you can't see it ready for him to be distracted while I teach the girls. Library books are hanging on the closet door ready to be read throughout the day. And that is it.

Here is the Montessori bin that Isaac will be enjoying on the first day of school.

A Sensory Box

Materials:
rice
a couple trucks
funnel
measuring cup
alligator (thrown in for A week, of course)
egg carton pieces cut up (to use as roads or ramps)
a mini broom and dust pan (to clean up the mess, because I am sure there will be one!)

Bye, be back tomorrow to give the low down on the first day!

I'll be praying the day goes great and all 3 are engrossed in learning.

I'm really looking forward to hearing about your experiences this year. You're gonna be a great teacher! (well, not that you haven't been a great teacher for the past...6 years??)
