First Leg of the Trip: Dallas

We arrived in the afternoon, and it was late afternoon before we were at my parents' house.  My mom went straight into entertaining mode and got out the bubble machine for Bobby (and those other kids too.)  The kids pushed through the exhaustion and were loving having their Mimi and Papa Boat again.

The night was rough for us.  Bob was up from 1:30-4:30am.  He kept having poopy diapers.  He eventually fell asleep with me in bed so we got some sleep in the end.  Judah was up super early for good and kept the girls awake too since they were sleeping in the same room as him.  Drew and Isaac woke up early, but went back to sleep after Mimi overheard them and told them to go back to bed.

Bobby had trouble with his nap the next day, but each night got better and better until he was sleeping until close to 6am every morning.  On the mornings that he woke up before 6am, he would fall asleep with me in bed which before this trip had only happened once in his whole life.

Judah had many nights where he woke up in the middle of the night and gave the girls trouble.  My sweet boy who had never in his life gotten out of bed without permission was now getting out and throwing fits in the middle of the night.  The night wakings stopped after three or four days, but then he strated getting out of bed at bedtime.  I am not happy that this habit started.  Now that we are back home he is doing better, but he has gotten out of his bed a few times.  :(

The next day we tried to get some sunshine to reset our circadian clocks.  We went to the park with Mimi.  To save money on this trip we didn't rent a van.  So we had to drive my aunt's car and my mom's SUV everywhere if all of us were going somewhere together.  The kids all really loved this park.  I remember when they built it when I was young.  It is a pretty cool park.

Bob loved the swings.

The big kids played hide and seek.

I got a pedicure for my toes that hadn't seen the light of day in months.  Other than that and church Sunday morning we laid low and had a few visitors including their Nanna.

Judah found the dress up clothes in Mimi's "closet 'o fun."

Judah was getting to know Cole, my dad's dog.  He got very comfortable with him by the end of the trip.  In fact, when we got home he was spending a lot more time with Trinity.  He had been in a nervous around animals phase, but he seems to be leaving that phase.

We had arrived on a Thursday and by Monday, not quite recovered from jetlag, we were on our way to San Antonio to see their uncles, aunts, and cousins.
