Isaac's Birthday Day

Here is the promised birthday day recap...

First we went to Mass and he asked Father Lou afterwards for a special birthday blessing. Father's blessing was so sweet, I got teary eyed. After Mass he got to open one gift. We chose the gift from his sisters because they were so excited about it. They bought him an airplane with their own money and were so proud. Initially, they were going to just give him a dollar from their money. Then they decided on three dollars, and when we saw this airplane for six dollars at the museum gift shop. I convinced the girls that he would enjoy this plane more than the dollars. He loved it, as was expected! They also made him cards last weekend, and without any prompting. Hannah just came and asked me to keep Isaac busy and away from their room while they prepared for his birthday. I was very pleased with their loving and thoughtful hearts.

We then packed up and met some friends for a picnic and then some swimming. We all had a great time and had a little nap or rest when we got home. Isaac was asleep before then actually, but he is very portable while napping. I just carried him up to his bed, and then we all got to rest.

When Daddy got home from work, he opened all the presents that have been coming in the mail and the ones we got him as well. What a lucky little guy to have so many family members who thought of him on his special day. As you can see, he was rolling in presents this year.

We got him Spencer (a Thomas Train) since it didn't come with the train table that Daddy made him for potty training like he had hoped. We also got him a dragon pillow pet that he had asked for, a German game I had been saving for him, and I sewed him Mater pillows (similar to the ones that Genna got, but not with Cinderellla on them) which he also asked for once when we were at Joann's.

He loved his Thomas pillow too. He ended up with lots of pillows for his big boy bed! But this guy is so cuddly that I think they will all get their fair share of loving.

After opening the gifts, we went to Bucca di Peppo's for dinner. They sang to him and he got a huge brownie sundae for free that he lovingly shared with his sisters. Here he is trying to scrape up every last drop.

When we made it back home, I thought I would let him play with one of his new toys, but that was interrupted by our neighbors invitation to play at their house for a bit. It ended up being a late night, and everyone was exhausted.
